okay, so I have been feeling a bit funky lately. I have a variety of complaints & symptoms {some of which are not appropriate to mention here} that have manifested themselves in my mind into a plethora of random illnesses. Being the reasonable, intelligent woman that I am, I went to the doctor. He did all the responsible tests to rule out anything really serious....and we're waiting for the results. In the meantime, he recommended that I take a HRT {hormone replacement therapy}....estrogen and progestrone to be exact. Now, he says that I will feel like a new woman in 5 days. Basically, I am no longer a woman in an internal functioning sense.....interesting! Since I know there are ever-changing research results and much controversy surrounding this treatment....I asked him what he would recommend if I were his wife. He quickly responded that she would KILL him if he did not bring home her estrogen. So, I am strongly considering throwing caution to the wind and taking the DRUGS!
Please see questionaire below
Any advise, info or experience that you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Until next time, I remain severely hormonally depleted {and therefore emotionally challanged}

have you ever tried a more natural kind of cream? i used to sell a product that Arbonne makes called phytoprolief (natural balancing cream) that is a topical cream that you rub on your soft tissue of your skin and it is absorbed into your body and contains natural phytoestrogens. anyway, just a thought. i could send you more info if you were interested in trying it. i don't do parties or really sell arbonne anymore but i am still a consultant and could put in an order for you.

i took hormone drugs for not even a year - and stopped and have been fine since..my friend who took "natural" stuff had a terrible terrible time - and had to take them for years...and her heart wasn't protected as with the hormone drugs - my advice - go with what your dr says..and take those drugs!!! :^) just my opinion

I've been on the Climara patch for 10 years now and will kill anyone who tries to take it away. So would the rest of my family. My kids have been known to say-Mom you're awful crabby lately did you remember to change your patch? The estrogen in it is plant derived not from mare's urine, thus making it (in my mind) a safer alternative. Thee is also a Climara Pro with estrogen and progestin. Which after reading about it, it may be time for me to switch to it.

I'm gonna say trust your instinct and your doctor's advice. We want an emotionally balanced mom that is really comfortable with the decision to take or not take HRT! We'll love you either way!

GO FOR IT... if it does not work or you don't feel better you have the option to stop taking them. Personally, I LOVE'EM - my hubby will tell you they saved our marriage... and here I thought the problem was with him... See I am a good example of how hormones can change your mood swings and your mind... teee heeee... maybe they should be called

My mom was on both for a while after her hysterectomy, but after a few ,months she decided to stop taking them to see if there was any noticeable changes...there were none other than that of loss of patience. I think you get better at patience with age thought right? Anyhow, good luck and please keep us posted.
