College Bound

I spent the day with my grandson, Tyler shopping for things that he will need as he heads off to college in the next few weeks....UCLA. We hit a few malls and got jeans, tee shirts, new underware & socks, some cool dress shirts,two pair of new shorts, a jacket, two pair of shoes and some stuff from Target for his new dorm/apartment.....we even bought an iron and ironing board LOL!!!!!  What a JOY....I am such a lucky DODO to have the ability to spoil him a bit. Why did I not take pictures? I don't have an answer on that one....but what a bummer. Guess I will have to stage another small shopping spree to get a shot or two. Anyway, my feet are throbbing but my heart is happy. It was really a nice day.

Okay, I went to lunch with Lauren today at our favorite spot....Miguels....I could eat Mexican food everyday. That could explain why I have the ever-expanding waist-line going on. This is the GIGANTIC mound of Nacho Grande's that Lauren ordered. Her eyes were definately bigger than her stomach as she took home two full boxes of left overs. I believe Tyler (her nephew, Stephs son, my grandson ((if you have not figured that one out)) ) inhaled those immediately.
Perhaps we should consider "lean Cusine" for lunch today!!!

Sharing our Success!

Kevin Fleming(our CFO-COO) and I attended the Michaels CEO vendor Summit in Dallas last week and I thought you would enjoy seeing a few of the photos I took while we were there. I apologize for being so bad about about keeping up with this blog....but, I've just been so busy with life & work.

So, in my attempt to gain forgiveness from you, I will share my adventures while at Michaels Vendor Summit with you.

Here we are all dressed up to go have dinner with the executive at Michaels. Looking pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Me & My BIG ideas was voted "vendor of the year" in the scrapbooking category. A coveted award and one we were really excited to get!! Our entire team has worked hard this year creating product and meeting deadlines for Michaels....it paid off! I was so proud to represent MAMBI at this event...you have no idea!

This group of executive leaders has a great new vision for Michaels going forward....and we at MAMBI are so excited to be a part of that vision. Look for fun new things from both companies this next year. This management team has an impressive background and some big plans for the future.

Okay, so that is where I have been and what I have been doing for the past few days. Does that redeem me for not keeping my blog current?

Vacation journal

I have been packing and thinking of our up-coming cruise to Europe. Bob & I are leaving on September 8 for a 12 day cruise and 6 days before and after in Lake Como, Italy and Monte Carlo, Monaco respectively.
I am really excited and in my usual compulsive fashion, am already getting things organized for the trip.

A few nights ago, while watching the Olympic games late at night, I whipped up this cool journal/album so that I could keep a journal of our adventure. Really, I used very limited supplies, cardstock, rhinestones, graph paper, a few MAMBI stickers and lots & lots of black stitching. I have become addicted to sewing on paper. I love the way it looks.

I tore this heart out of a piece of newspaper that was sitting in the corner of my office and stitched all around the edges with black thread. The wings are from a black & white sticker from MAMBI.

 The envelope is from the card I used on the front inside cover and I just stitched around the edges of it to form a pocket for momentos etc. The black gros grain ribbon book markers are just that.....place-savers that look really cool.

I cut the graph paper to fit just in side the cardstock cover and stitched it onto the right side of the page. So, I have a very chic little journal to record my European memories. Can't wait.

Dress Code Alert!

Remember my post from last week when Lauren & I were dressed exactly alike....like we got a "what to wear to work memo" or something? Okay, so today I see two other girls at MAMBI who were wearing the same outfits.....call the fashion police....that would be me in this case. Take a "look-see" at Shelby & Rhonda.....same exact pants....LOL! Don't they look cute?

I simply can't think of anything to say that would be interesting.

LOL....Steph's friut looks so cute and the prices included....please.
Why does that seem creative when she posts it.....I have a bunch of "free" produce that Lauren brought me this weekend but don't think I could pull off blogging about it like she did.

I do have a golf lesson tonight....wanna see pics of that? I can't imagine....oh, but it is pretty entertaining to see learn this sport. I might think of something to share tonight.

Okay, today I get to work and my daughter, Lauren is wearing the SAME exact outfit that I have on. Black top, black leggings, off-white lace tank, black shoes. It was so ridiculous....everyone thought that we planned it. So I took this photo for you to all to laugh at.  Oh, yea, I forgot we both had yellow purses too.

Sorry, Lauren.....you are truly your mother's daughter. I LOVE it. Wonder what she will wear tomorrow? So funny.

Grandaughters are the best!

I just spent the past few days with my grand-daughter, Kayla...Buggie for short! We had so much fun.  We have played golf, shopped, gotten massages & facials, eaten, laughed and sung our hearts out in the car.....to the tunes of Sara Bareilles, Carrie Underwood, & Natasha Beddingfield to name a few. Mind you, I didn't know who those Natasha or Sara were until a few weeks ago...Kayla does a pretty good job of keeping me "current".....and it gets harder all the time!

I took her home tonight and shared some really nice family time with "The Rama2la clan". It was fun....great BBQ, played cards & watched the re-run of the Mater Dei baseball slide show...starring, Tyler Rahmatulla (her brother)....#2...short stop extrordinaire...Mater Dei alumni... 2009 UCLA baseball.

Love you T....but this post is titled "granddaughters" so I'm moving back to Kayla.

I found all adorable photos of me and Kayla tonight....I want to share. Wow, how the years have passed. She was always such a total girly  "girl". I remember her coming to my house and going through my jewelery box, she loved rings & necklaces....we painted finger nails, put on make-up, did each others hair. She always loved sunglasses, purses and shoes....I think after todays shopping spree, it is fair to say not much has changed! Check out these cute pics.

breakfast anyone?

I'm so wierd....I just like this picture of eggs frying.
It's early, I'm sitting in bed with my computer and the doggies curled up at my feet, working.
But, I'm not in the mood to work...rather thinking of what I'm going to go eat.
So....the fried eggs win. Have a great weekend.

Mine will be a quiet one....my hubby is in Florida fishing with the guys.
